Representation of Sexuality
The representation of sexuality is clear and emphasised throughout. At the start of the scene, a gay boy approaches another boy to ask a favour. A high angle is immediately positioned on the gay boy to highlight the lack of authority and power that the boy has over the other. Moreover the dialogue of this scene shows the feminine side to the character which is typical of a 'gay man.' Moreover in the scene, another typical representation of the 'gay man' which is the tendency to be outrageous is also shown later on in the scene when we cut to a slow motion of the binary opposites in the jock in the football team and the flimsy gay man walking across a field.

Representation of Age- Waterloo Road
The representation of age in the clip of Waterloo Road is very clear and communicated to the audience. In the first scene, a teacher interrogates a couple of students about the nature of their activities. The pan camera movement that follows his feet identifies authority that this character has over the students. Moreover the performance where the character talks patronisingly and clicks his fingers suggests a self confidence and a belief that he is better than every body else. This is somewhat stereotypical of an older man that is older than 60. This is due to the fact that he may think that he has so much more knowledge than the students, which gives a reason for his arrogance. This in turn has an effect on the audience, as they automatically reject the character and his behaviour towards other people. The producers of the show have worked to make this character unpleasant and disliked by the audience. He is shown as a stereotypical grumpy pensioner. Furthermore age is also represented in the students that are seen in the clip. Here the students stereotypical show signs of being lazy and reluctant. This is clear through the costumes worn. The scruffy appearance of their ties, whether it be loose or crooked, shows a lack of effort in students attending school. The students are also shown as being reluctant, specifically in the scene when the site manager offers a compromise that the student should complete their essay before helping him fix a window. Through the performance of the student when they roll their eyes and their face drops suggests a stereotypical presumption that all teenagers hate school, and this is clear here in the clip. Later on in the scene we cut to a scene where a girl student is pressurising a male student into telling her something. The quick editing between the shot and reverse shot between the two characters as they talk highlights the persistence and aggressiveness by the girl to find out information. The age stereotype of teenagers is represented here, as it is presented that the age group is angry, moody as well as overdramatising everything. Moreover, we then cut to the scene of a middle ged teacher dressed in clothing that does not suit him or the age bracket that he belongs t. The scene starts of with a low angle that looks up at the teacher as he enters the room. This is used to clearly emphasise how ridiculous the teacher looks. This in turn represents the middle aged character who is unattractive and is unaware of popular culture. The quick succession of angles from a low angle to a straight on shot, shows the decline in his confidence.

Front Cover and Contents Final Design

The two pictures here are the final designs for the front cover and contents page of my magazine Which is called LOUD. It was important that the two pages linked well and connected with the name of the supposed album named 'WILD'. Therefore the same model that comes across as being very wild and free wearing the same clothes and in the same natural environment was therefore used in order to make the magazine portray the artists 'album' in a way that he is unique and never before seen in the music industry. The name of the artists whenever mentioned in a subheading was made big and in a different colour to other headlines to communicate to the audience that the magazine is mainly concerned about talking about the artist. The final design compared to the original design ideas are very different in the fact that it is now a male model instead of a female model. This was purely a last minute decision. However the positioning of the model on the contents page was kept the same. However The front cover photo is very different to the original idea. This is because the photo that is seen now represented the idea of being wild and free was better than the original and the lighting was interesting to use.

Exam Question
To what extent has the internet played a significant role in the marketing and exchange of media products in the area you have studied?
Marketing in the media is a very successful way of engaging audience into a specific media product such as as film. Cross media marketing uses all forms of marketing a film or any media product across all media platforms especially the internet among others. The more marketing that a product gets worldwide the more guaranteed interest among audiences. The product can also rely heavily on the distribution companies to get them noticed by a lot of people so that they can make a lot of money. The Big Six Distribution companies such as: Disney, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, Universal, Paramount and Columbia are some of the most well known Distribution companies in the film industry. This is because they are global and market their films on a global scale. Representation of Gender Part 2
In the clip of 'Margaret' which talks of the life of Margaret Thatcher, gender roles of men and woman in politics is represented and explored. Throughout all of the clip, Margaret Thatcher is the only female that is seen. She also doesn't talk very often which is significant. The lack of female company and her lack of speech represents traits of the traditional woman as she looks scared as well as vulnerable and innocent. Also in the scene there is a cutaway shot of her hand with an expensive ring. This is interesting as it is an example of the traditional woman that she is at the start of the scene. The lack of woman in the scene suggest her as being dominated by men and needing them for support when she comes under threat which is a complete contrast to the character at the end of the scene. There is a shift in gender types for this protagonist as towards the end of the scene, she switches to show lesbian female traits. This is when she is leading men and shouting at them in anger. This is not a stereotypical role for a woman in this period of time. Woman stereotypically would have been the ones that were being led not the other way round. The close ups on her face, the very slow zoom in and the cutaway that are all used effectively in the scene show the the traits of the traditional and the lesbian woman. In addition, when she is walking she is followed by a group of men, the shot starts at her feet which show her wearing heels. This is interesting as it makes her seem taller, and this could infer her dominant nature over the men when she is alone in the room with them.

Representation of Gender
In the extract from Game of Thrones in which the main female protagonist uses her power to gain an army, traits of both a sexy and lesbian women are shown. The sexy woman trait sees women as being more powerful than other women and using other men to get what she wants. This is shown through the protagonist, as she used the powerful slaver to get an army. Moreover, the low angle that looks up at her also portrays her as being very powerful and superior to those around her. Also, the mise en scene of her posture and confidence when she walks and talks show her as being fully in control of herself and reinforces the sexy woman trait of being manipulative towards men and being more powerful than others would perceive her to be. Furthermore, the lesbian woman trait is also very clear through the female protagonist of the scene. Lesbian women have traits of having masculine roles and hating men. This is very true in this scene. For example, the female protagonist has clear hate towards the slavers, especially the one which takes her dragon. Moreover through this scene, the audience get a sense that she does not rely on men to get what she really wants and that she is her own boss. The lesbian female trait of having masculine roles is also true in this scene when the protagonist acquires an army at the end of the scene. This role is very outside of the stereotypical traits of the traditional woman of the time. This role along with the confident and powerful physique portrays the female protagonist as being the breaker of stereotypes and far from a traditional woman. The diegetic dialogue of the slaver when he shows his surprise at her being able to speak the language of Valyrian, this suggests the defiance that the female protagonist has towards typical woman stereotypes an interpretations. The portrayal of the female protagonist in the scene also goes against Laura Mulveys theory of the male gaze, where the women are perceived from the point of view of men and showing them as objects of male pleasure. Here instead of being on the screen to please men aesthetically, the protagonist is shown as power and hating men. Therefore the concept of the female protagonist in Game of Thrones goes against stereotypical ideas about women in the media.
